Get Ready for 2009 Lincoln Cents

2009 will mark the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln and the 100th Anniversary of the Lincoln Cent. There are a number of things planned to mark this important occasion.

In 2009 the Lincoln Cent reverse design will be changed once again.This time the coin will feature a series of four different designsreleased approximately every three months. Each of the designs willrepresent different stages in the life of Abraham Lincoln.Additionally, the Secretary of the Treasury has the authority to mintand issue numismatic coins with the original composition of 95% copperand 5% tin and zinc.

2009 Lincoln Commemorative Silver Dollar

The year 2009 will also mark the release of a Commemorative Silver Dollar to honor President Lincoln.

The 90% silver coins will be issued in a quantity of up to 500,000.The design will be emblematic of the life and legacy of PresidentLincoln and selected by the US Treasury Secretary after consultationand input from the Commission of Fine Arts, the Abraham LincolnBicentennial Commission, and the CACC.

Both proof and uncirculated versions of the coin will be available from the US Mint from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.

No, you can't view the collection of other people, however this is a very good suggestion for the redesign I am considering.

Actually, I have built a web application called Coin Vault , where coin collectors can store their coins, upload images, enter prices and specifications etc.

It does require a complete redesign, but it is much more flexible.

Take a look and tell me what you think.
