Details World Youth Day 2013, stylized WYDRio2013, will be the 14th international World Youth Day, a major international Roman Catholic event, focused on faith and youth. The host city of World Youth Day 2013 will be Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil also the city will host the 2016 Summer Olympics, as announced by Pope Benedict XVI at the end of the closing Mass of World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid, Spain at Cuatro Vientos Airport. The events are scheduled to be held from 23 July to 28 July 2013.

At the center of the coin, the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the famous monument in Rio de Janeiro. On the right the mint mark "R" and the name of the sculptor Daniel Patrick "P.DANIELE". On the outer edge 12 five-pointed stars representing the European Union.
