Explanation: (see Yemen Arab Republic) From 1919 to about 1965, the Kingdom of Yemen and used Maria Theresa Thalers as coins (plus others). However the currency was known as the Imadi. 40 Bogshahs (buqchahs) = 1 Imadi = 1 MT Thaler. From 1948-62 the Imadi was also known as the Ahmadi. Coins of 1 Imadi, 1 Ahmadi and subordinate values exist. The Royalists then went to 40 Bog = 1 Rial from 1965 to 1972. Monetary unit: Maria Theresa dollar called the riyal (riyal later was spelled rial)
