The Austrian Official Blister of 2014 comprises a full set of eight coins (from 1 cent to 2 euros). The pack is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of Bertha von Suttner (1843-1914), already depicted on the ordinary 2-euro coin.
Bertha von Suttner was a writer engaged in the peace movement. He is most famous for the novel weapons Down (Die Waffen Nieder), published in 1889. In 1905 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He died June 21, 1914, just one month before the outbreak of the First World War.
Austrian coins have a unique design for each denomination, with a common theme for each of the three series of coins. The minor coins feature Austrian flowers, the middle coins feature examples of architecture from Austria's capital, Vienna nd the two major coins feature famous Austrians.
