The European Year for Development is the subject of the Belgium 2 euros 2015 commemorative coin, which replaces the controversial "200 years of the Battle of Waterloo".
The European Year of development (EYD2015) is the first European year dedicated to the EU external cooperation and the role of Europe and for the eradication of poverty in the countries of the world. The motto of this goal is "Our world, our dignity, our future". The coin will be sold only in proof box and two Coincards; there will be no circulation coins.
The European Year of Development is the first to focus on the external relations of the EU, bringing together young people, politicians, civil society, private sector, academia and other stakeholders around common goals in development.
