Details The Finnish declaration of independence was adopted by the Parliament of Finland on 6 December 1917. It declared Finland an independent and sovereign nation state rather than an autonomous Russian Grand duchy.

The coin shows nine people rowing a boat with long oars. The year mark 2007 and the year 1917 appear on the top and the bottom of the design respectively. The mintmark appears on the left hand side, and the indication of the country ‘FI’ on the right hand side. The outer ring of the coin depicts the twelve stars of the European flag.
