|The Year Set consists of: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cent coins and 1 euro coin, as well as the commemorative 2 euro coin dedicated to Ilmari Tapiovaara.
Ilmari Tapiovaara (1914-1999) ranks amongst the most influential figures in Finnish design and is remembered for work such as the Domus and Mademoiselle chairs.
Finnish euro coins have three designs, though two of them are each found on one coin only. Heikki Haivaoja was the designer of the Finnish euro coins for the minor and middle series of coins, while Pertti Makinen is the designer of the Finnish 1 euro coin and Raimo Heino is the designer of the Finnish 2 Euro coin.
The coins feature the heraldic lion of Finland, two flying swans and the fruit and leaves of the cloudberry.
