The Official Blister 2009 contains a full set of circulating euros (1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cents and 1, 2 euros), along will a 5 euro silver coin dealing with the theme of the “International Year of Planet Earth”.
The UN has declared 2009 the “International Year of Astronomy – IYA2009), with the motto “The Universe, yours to discover”, as it falls on the four hundredth anniversary of the first telescopic astronomical observations carried out by Galileo Galilei in 1609.
Amongst the various aims of the International Year of Astronomy, there's the desire for all the world's citizens to rediscover their place in the universe via sky observation and to make them emotionally involved in the observation and the personal discovery of celestial objects.
