The Year Set consists of: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cent coins and 1, 2 euros commemorating the 10th anniversary of the EMU and the birth of the euro (unc).
Slovak euro coins feature three different designs. The coins in a nominal value of 2 euro and 1 euro depict the "Double Cross in the middle of Three Hills" designed by Ivan Rehak. The coins with a nominal value of 50, 20 and 10 euro cents depict the Bratislava Castle designed by Jan Cernaj and Pavol Karoly and coins in a nominal value of 5, 2 and 1 euro cents depict the artistic design of Krivan designed by Drahomir Zobek.
The coin shows a stick figure which merges into the euro symbol. It seeks to convey the idea of the single currency and, by extension, Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) being the latest step in Europe’s long history of trade and economic integration. |
