Kremnica Mint issued the third euro coin BU set of year 2009 - "Historical Regions of Slovakia – Orava, Kysuce, Považie". This sets contains the 8 euro coins of 1 cent to 2 euro and a bi-metallic medal "Orava, Kysuce, Považie"
The design of the Slovak coins was selected by public vote, where more than 140,000 people participated. The most popular design was the Coat of arms of Slovakia (33,068 votes), followed by the Krivan peak (24,589 votes) and the Bratislava Castle (21,792 votes).
