- Random title:
Mylare
- Explanation: A clear trademark polyester material used to store coins; This commonly refers to a holder made from cardboard which has two coin-sized holes cut out in a particular denomination. The holes are covered with a plastic film (mylar). A coin is placed in one cut out aread and the cardboard is folded in half, allowing both sides of the coin to be seen through the plastic film. The cardboard is usually held together by staples or glue (as with pre-glued mylars). Mylar film is used because it has no known chemicals which may cause damage to coins, however, a coin may become toned from chemicals which are found in some staples, gum, or tape.
