Details Ludwigskirche in Old Saarbrucken is a Protestant baroque style church. It is the symbol of the city and is considered to be one of the most important Protestant churches in Germany, along with the Dresden Frauenkirche and the St. Michaelis Church, Hamburg (Michel).

The coin depicts the Saint Louis church (Ludwigskirche) in Saarbrucken. The name of the state SAARLAND and the mint mark appear under the monument; the engraver''s initials FB (Friedrich Brenner) are displayed on the left of the monument.
