The Year Set consists of: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cent coins and 1, 2 euros commemorating the 100th anniversary of universal and equal suffrage which was established in Finland a century ago. It coincided with the parliament reform of 1906 and all Finnish citizens got the right to vote in elections, regardless of sex, means or ethnic background
Finnish euro coins have three designs, though two of them are each found on one coin only. Heikki Haivaoja was the designer of the Finnish euro coins for the minor and middle series of coins, while Pertti Makinen is the designer of the Finnish 1 euro coin and Raimo Heino is the designer of the Finnish 2 Euro coin.
The coins feature the heraldic lion of Finland, two flying swans and the fruit and leaves of the cloudberry |
