  • February 16, 2013 After 13 months, development is done. The new site is finally online. Enjoy!
  • January 1, 2012 - Starting porting the site from classic ASP to ASP.NET / C#. This will make it easier to maintain, easier to add new features and faster.
  • September 12, 2011 - A new page has been created for each of the (currently) 17 Eurozone countries, featuring the 2 euro commemorative coins that have been issued.
  • August 24, 2010 - The new site is on-line! Complete with SQL Server databases instead of Access (!), which will make several functions much faster. All pages now sport a "Best sellers" section on the right side with best-selling coins in the last 3 months, or a "Recommended for you" section for old customers or users that have placed some items in their shopping cart.
  • January 5, 2009 - Happy New Year everybody! Let me tell you what the new shopping system brings to the customers of the site:
    1. Order history: You will be able to see your previous orders and how much you paid for them
    2. Ordered items in the shopping cart: I know it sounds ridiculous, but until now the items in your cart wre being displayed in random order!
    3. Bubble tooltips: Extended help through the use of stylish bubble tooltips; you will be able to see explanations and other guidelines without visiting a help page
  • December 28, 2007 - The User Control Panel should be 98% ready by now, although bugs and omissions are bound to exist. I implemented a single sign-on system, where a signle registration will create every account for the services this site provide (the World Collectors Database, the Coin Vault, the Coin Forum etc).
  • February 21, 2007 - I just published an amazing new service. Would you like to store your colllection for FREE? I created a web application that does just that.
  • February 11, 2007 - RSS feeds? Why not? Stay in touch with new coins and prices by subscribe to Fleur-de-coin.com's New Coins RSS feed.
  • July 27, 2005 - I completely rewrote the Euro Coin Shop section of the site. So, why should you care? Because I added interesting information about all the countries in the Eurozone.
  • January 24, 2004 - I posted the first webpage of a series of articles on how coins are minted and made several changes to the "Little-known facts" section.
  • September 8, 2003 - Wellcome to the completely redesigned Fleur-de-Coin! Lately I managed to sell quite a few coins, so I decided to purchase a domain and change the look and feel of the site once more.
  • July 31, 2003 - I have modified the html code in all my webpages so that it validates by W3C standards (HTML 4.01 Transitional and CSS 2).
  • June 18, 2003 - The Coin Collectors' Database has seen significant upgrades during the past few days. From now on, registered users can upload a list with the coins they offer, request their password automatically and protect their email address from spammers, by hiding it from prying eyes (Select Public - No)
  • May 25, 2003 - Finally completed the shopping cart system
  • December 01, 2002 - The site has been completely redesigned. The menu on the left side is now displayed instantly, so navigation is faster. I have also de-tabelized the code, which produces no visible changes, but should make the pages download marginally faster. I also started selling some coins.
  • November 19, 2002 - I changed the logo of the site and the name, as I eventually found out that Coin World was already taken.
  • July 16, 2002 - Completely redesigned the Coin Terminology and added many useful terms. I also added a search engine, which is still under a testing stage.
  • June 26, 2002 - The new Coin Links section is on-line and I am now developing an on-line rating system for my articles.
  • April 29, 2002 - I started coding the new site; I have maintained the same look and feel so I can re-use my code and work faster.
  • November 13, 2001 - The static list of coin collectors was converted to a dynamic on-line database. All entries have been password-protected and each collector can add, edit or delete only his own entry.
